Scalable Relations
Three Studio Art faculty are presently exhibiting work in the “Scalable Relations” exhibition taking place on three UC campuses (UC Irvine, UC San Diego, and UCLA). Curated by Whitney Museum adjunct curator of new media Christiane Paul, “Scalable Relations” presents works that “explore digital media’s capability of representing a growing amount of data in constantly evolving relations.”
Antoinette LaFarge is showing Playing the Rapture (Point of View), an installation version of her 2008 performance work on computer games and the Christian Rapture, featuring extensive use of machinima video.(Site: UC San Diego)
Robert Nideffer is showing WTF?, his side-scroller take-off on the popular MMORPG World of Warcraft. (Site: UC San Diego)
Beatriz da Costa is showing Invisible Earthlings, an investigation into our relationship with those nearly invisible social actors we know as microbes. (Site: UCLA)
