The forum includes artists featured in the Laguna Art Museum’s current exhibition &#8220;WOW: Emergent Media Phenomenon,&#8221;including CAD faculty members  Antoinette LaFarge and Robert Nideffer, as well as local media artist Eddo Stern and Blizzard Entertainment’s cinematics project lead, Jeff Chamberlain. It will be moderated by David Familian, associate director of the Beall Center. The Beall Center is proud to present a lecture by David Ross, in conjunction with the Beall Center’s fall exhibit &#8220;Media Alchemy of Nam June Paik&#8221;. Ross is a leading expert on the work of Paik and will greatly enhance audience understanding of Paik’s groundbreaking work.</p>

Bill Viola is considered a pioneer in the medium of video art and is internationally recognized as one of today’s leading artists. He has been instrumental in the establishment of video as a vital form of contemporary art, and in so doing has helped to greatly expand its scope in terms of technology, content and historical reach.</p>

<p>Two Studio Art faculty members—Antoinette LaFarge and Robert Nideffer—are taking part in the exhibition &#8220;<a href="http://www.lagunaartmuseum.org/upcoming-exhibitions.html">WoW: Emergent Media Phenomenon</a>&#8221; at the <a href="http://www.lagunaartmuseum.org">Laguna Art Museum</a>. Focusing thematically on the popular online role-playing game World of Warcraft, the show opens to the public June 14 and runs through October 4th of this year. Both Antoinette and Robert are premiering new artworks, about which they will be giving talks at the museum later in the year (Robert will be speaking on Aug. 14 @ 1 pm, Antoinette on Sept. 13 @ 1 pm). Curated by Grace Kook-Anderson, this is a truly international show.</p>
