facilities

Both the Department of Studio Art and the Claire Trevor School of the Arts host a wide aray of computer labs and technical facilities for computer-mediated art and research. Each has a different  function and core user base. Some are specialized research labs, while others are general-purpose computer labs. Some are open to all Claire Trevor School of the Arts students while others are restricted by department and student status.

In addition, several much-needed facilities will come online with a new digital arts building in 2011, including a Dynamic Media Performance Space, a new Motion Capture Studio, a couple of digital sound studios, and several other faculty, graduate, and undergraduate computer labs.

The facilities listed below are those that most directly support Critical Art+Design practices in Studio Art. Other departmental facilities that are of importance include the video production and editing facilities, photo labs, honors undergraduate studios, the student ROOM Gallery, and the University Art Gallery; more about these can be found on the main Studio Art website.
